Attention All JCDPU Customers:

    • AN INCREASE TO THE POWER COST ADJUSTMENT WILL BECOME EFFECTIVE MAY 1 2023 FOR ALL ELECTRIC BILLS ISSUED ON OR AFTER THAT DATE. THIS EQUATES TO A GENERAL RATE INCREASE OF 5.7%. THIS INCREASE IS DUE TO CONTINUED INFLATION AND HIGHER PURCHASED POWER COSTS.
    • The proposal to increase the volume-based fees for the use of the Borough's sewerage system from $6.62 to $7.05 per hundred cubic feet of water will be discussed at a Public Hearing to be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 6:00 PM at the Griswold Town Hall.

To start a new service a customer must complete and submit a commercial or residential application and pay a meter deposit based on the following:

House Meter – Multi Family Common Areas $110.00
Electric Hot Water Heaters $110.00
Heat Pumps $220.00
Electric Heat $250.00
Commercial 3 Phase $110 Min.
Lighting Only (Oil/Propane Heat) $85.00

Before starting any electrical project, please call our electric plant at 860-376-2877 to coordinate work and inspections and to ensure that you have the required permits.
